By the end of the 2000 - 2001 school year, students at CMS will have an instruction basis that achieves 60% on the Spring 2001 MSPAP index. CMS will deliver a comprehensive reading/writing program across all content areas, grade 6 - 8, to improve student reading and writing achievement. The students will have increased familiarity with and competence with test taking and MSPAP type tasks and skills. By the end of 99/00, 100% of staff will be trained and will incorporate technology into their instructional program to support overall school goals.
CMS will create opportunities and programs to facilitate communication between teachers, students, and administrators to improve school climate and increase school spirit. An increase in a sense of pride and higher level of participation in spirit activities will be accomplished by promoting an inviting environment that is welcoming to all students, parents, and others who visit the building through role models, displays, posters, supplementary resources and presentations.
CMS will continue to reduce student referrals and suspensions and to increase a positive, safe environment for students, teachers, and staff. CMS will increase the attendance rate of our students to 95%.
